Selank is a synthetic heptapeptide (Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg-Pro-Gly-Pro) developed as an analog of tuftsin, an immunoregulatory fragment of immunoglobulin G. It is studied in neuropeptide and stress-response research.

Mechanism overview
Research describes Selank as a positive allosteric modulator of GABA-A receptors, with associated influence on serotonin metabolism and on dopamine and norepinephrine levels. It has been reported to raise brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) expression in the hippocampus and to inhibit enkephalin-degrading enzymes. Human evidence is limited, largely from short-duration Russian-language studies.
